Freebooters, it is time for the annual Gasparilla Parade! The parade route begins at Bay to Bay and Bayshore and ends at Cass Street and Ashley Drive. The float staging area will be to the south of Bay to Bay. Our float position is 68.

Beer, soft drinks, water and food will be provided. You may bring your own alcohol; however no bottles please. All drinks are to be consumed out of opaque plastic containers, which will be provided.

This is a approx. 4 mile parade, it is recommended that you have 12 dozen beads per mile. If you have any questions concerning the parade, please contact the Parade Marshal Dean Landsman. Also, if you would like to purchase beads for the parade and have them delivered to the float, call Randy Woodruff. You can find all contact information on here. Looking forward to seeing everyone there.
Children's Gasparilla Parade 1/17/2012 7:14 AM
Ahoy Freebooters,
It is time to start planning for the Gasparilla Parades. January 21 will be our first parade, Gasparilla Children's Parade. The parade will begin promptly at 3:30, so everyone needs to be there by 2:30. The staging area is normally to the south of the intersection of Bay to Bay and Bayshore. Our float number is 90.

*Possession or consumption of alcohol is against the events policy. No alcohol will be provided by the Krewe. Soft drinks and water will be provided. This is a children friendly event, so the more the merrier. Please note children must be accompanied by a relative/memeber who assumes responsibility for the child.

Fees for this parade are: $20 for adults and children are admitted free of charge. Also, the adult guest fee for this parade is $50 plus parade fee of $20.

Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and a safe and Happy New Year!

Freebooters Social Event 1/17/2012 6:46 AM
Are Ye Gettin' Restless? The parade season is here and we need to get together to discuss the upcoming events. The Children's Gasparilla and the Gasparilla Pirate Fest Parade are just around the corner. Please join us at Beef O' Brady's (1 block east of the Suncoast Parkway) to iron out the details. Also, please take this opportunity to bring your checkbook to cover any dues and/or parade fees. Also, it's a good chance to get your order in for parade beads. If you know of anyone who might be interested in joining, this is the perfect event.

I hope to see you there,

Capt. Bob

Hope to see you there,

Krewe Member Profile Pictures 1/24/2010 6:38 PM
It's time to put a face to a name!  I've updated the website to list all the available krewe member profile pictures.  If you find pictures that don't match the name, please let me know.  Each person can also correct their own picture by logging in and updating the profile picture.  You can find the krewe member pictures by selecting "Krewe Members" under the "About the Krewe" menu item at the top of the page.

Krewe Email Module Complete! 11/2/2009 4:29 PM
I just finished the Krewe Email module.  This will enable us manage our krewe emails from the website.  Again, you will all see it working once your profile has been created.  In order to get signed up on the site, you must fill out and submit the New Membership Application form.  If you have not completed the form, please click on the following link to do so:  New Membership Application.

Thanks for all of your patience and support.
New Member Profiles 10/27/2009 4:31 PM
It's important that we all start using the website for our communication needs.  The first thing each member needs to do is create a new member account. Once that is completed, you will be able to gain access to the Members Only areas of the site.

Each member should select the "Join the Krewe" option which is found in the "About the Krewe" menu item at the top of the page.  Fill out the New Membership Application form and click the 'Submit Application' button.  I will then approve your membership requests.  Upon approval, an email will be sent to you with instructions to complete your account setup.

That's all there is to it.  I'll be working on some much needed features for the site like:
  • Event Management (track event attendance)
  • Email Management (manage all emails to members)
  • Event Photos (allow members to upload photos from events)
  • Member Forum (members only discussion board)
Please let me know any ideas you might have about improving the website.
Thanks
Freebooters Website Relaunch! 10/24/2009 7:03 AM
Welcome to the newly redesigned Freebooter's Krewe Website!  I've spend quite a bit of time trying to come up with a design that both promotes our krewe brand, and is functional for all of our communication and scheduling needs.  Please feel free to explore the site and send me an email for any improvement ideas you might have.  Also, the site now supports Krewe Member Profiles.  This simply means that you can create a login to access the Members Only areas.  Thanks again for your support.  I look forward to your feedback.
